Home Fall Prevention Specialist
Prevention Today, Independence Forever
About Balance Guard
Proactive care, right where it matters most — your home.
At Balance Guard, we combine the science of physical therapy with the practicality of home safety to reduce your risk of falling before it becomes a crisis. We believe fall prevention isn’t just about equipment or exercises — it’s about understanding the whole picture: your strength, your daily routines, your environment, and how they all interact.
Over 60% of falls happen at home — yet medical providers almost never assess the home itself. That’s where we come in.
Our in-home evaluations are led by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Fall Prevention Specialist, trained to spot the early signs of functional decline and the hidden hazards that can turn a simple trip into a life-changing injury. We go beyond clipboards and checklists. We build relationships, listen to your goals, and customize a plan that fits your lifestyle.
Whether it’s rearranging furniture, adding grip tape or lighting, reviewing medications, or progressing your strength program — we’re here to guide you with both compassion and clinical expertise.
Our services include:
Comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and strength/balance screenings
Room-by-room safety walk-throughs with instant feedback and actionable changes
Installation of basic fall prevention tools during the first visit
Clear, tailored recommendations for equipment or home modifications
Ongoing support through our Preventative Care Partnership
Peace of mind — for you, your family, and your future
We're not a one-time checklist. We're a long-term safety partner, here to help you stay independent, confident, and in control of your health.
Our Services
Your journey to a safer, stronger home begins here.
Our Initial Evaluation is more than just a checklist — it’s a comprehensive, personalized visit led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy trained in fall prevention and home safety. We combine a full-body mobility and balance assessment with a detailed indoor and outdoor home walk-through to identify risk factors before they lead to injury.
You’ll receive:
A full physical therapy evaluation (balance, strength, gait, movement patterns)
A complete home safety assessment — lighting, furniture, flooring, bathrooms, thresholds, stairs, and more
Simple on-the-spot fixes using our Day-One Safety Kit (grip tape, lights, non-slip materials)
Professional equipment recommendations — tailored to your needs and budget
A printed or digital Final Report with findings and action steps
Time to discuss your concerns, priorities, and future plans
